About Us

Our Origins

On 6 December 1984, 203 young officers were commissioned through the 14th Officers Training School Course at Mangla — among the finest to have passed through Pakistan Army’s celebrated institution. They carried with them not just their commissions, but an unbreakable bond that would define the rest of their lives.
The course came to be known simply as “14th The Great” — a name earned through character, camaraderie, and decades of distinguished service to Pakistan. Over the years, course mates served as generals, colonels, administrators, professionals, and citizens — in uniform and beyond — always carrying the ethos of service instilled at the OTS.

The Course Fund

As the years passed, course mates after retirement began contributing to a shared Course Fund — a practical expression of the commitment to stand by one another. The fund grew steadily through annual subscriptions and voluntary contributions, used for mutual assistance, welfare support, and the annual fellowship gathering.
As of 2026, the Course Fund stands as a testament to the sustained generosity and solidarity of 14th The Great members over more than two decades.

Formalising the Institution

The Course Committee, after detailed deliberation, resolved in 2026 to formalise the welfare mission by registering the Society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 — giving it a permanent legal identity, institutional governance, and the continuity to serve course mates and their families long into the future.

The Great Welfare Fourteen Society is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, holds the Course Fund in its name, operates a joint bank account under dual-signatory arrangements, and functions under a formal Constitution that protects the interests of all 183 surviving course mates and their families.

Our Values

• Brotherhood — the bond of the 14th OTS Course is lifelong and unconditional.
• Welfare — no course mate or their family should face hardship without the support of the course.
• Transparency — every rupee of the Course Fund is accounted for and audited independently.
• Continuity — our Society is built to outlast any individual, ensuring welfare for generations.
• Dignity — all welfare assistance is provided with respect and confidentiality.
• Non-profit — not a single rupee of course funds is distributed as personal benefit to any member.

Legal Status

The Great Fourteen Welfare Society is a voluntary, non-profit welfare society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Act XXI of 1860) with the Registrar of Societies, Islamabad Capital Territory Administration. It is governed by a formal Constitution comprising a Memorandum of Association and Rules & Regulations, with an elected Governing Body and mandatory independent annual audit.
